AMC plans solar-powered EV charging stations for its buses

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to complete the green transformation of the city’s public transport system by powering electric buses with solar energy instead of grid electricity. In the initial phase, five EV charging stations for BRTS buses will be equipped with solar panels to create a charging infrastructure that runs on renewable energy.

The Cabinet has approved enhanced delegation of financial powers to NTPC Ltd, allowing the state-run power utility to invest up to Rs 20,000 crore in its green energy subsidiaries — a sharp rise from the earlier cap of Rs 7,500 crore.
